This Week's Intimations
Next Sunday’s morning service 19th March will be held in St. Mary’s Hall. Please invite anyone you know to this service, who normally finds it difficult to get up to the church for services.
Annual Stated Meeting (ASM) This will be held after the morning service on Sunday 26th March. Please plan to stay for this important meeting.
Prayer meeting tonight in St. Mary’s Hall. 7.30pm. All welcome.
Crèche - there is a supervised crèche available for children under the age of 3. Parents are invited to take their children to the crèche in the vestry at the back of the church. Alternatively activity bags can be collected from the church vestibule for use in church to keep little ones amused. Children aged 3 and over are welcome to go to Sunday club in St Mary’s Hall after the second hymn. We need a couple more volunteers for the crèche. If you are interested please talk to Caz Alcorn.
The Youth Fellowship has been invited to visit Kirkmuirhill Youth Fellowship tonight (where Ann Lyall works). For more information please contact Alex Kelly. The next Youth Fellowship meeting in Biggar will be next Sunday, 19th March at 6.30pm in St Mary’s Hall.
Lent Studies This year we will be using 5 studies based around the film Les Miserables. Anyone who would like to join a group is welcome. Groups currently meet on Monday and Friday mornings and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. It is not too late to join a group. Please speak to Jane or Mike Fucella if you would like to join a group.
Gillespie Centre AGM will be held in the Gillespie Centre at 4pm on Thursday 16th March.
Next Messy Church will be in Black Mount on Saturday 18th March from 4 to 6pm. The theme is Joy and we will be celebrating Easter. All welcome.
The God Question - Does scientific understanding of life on earth point to a Creator or a series of chance happenings? Both sides of the life and evolution argument will be presented in film by highly respected experts in their field at Biggar Kirk on Wednesday 22 March at 7.30pm followed by a question time led by Dr Murdo Macdonald, leader of the Church's Society, Religion and Technology project. Make it a date and bring a friend.
The next Kirk Session meeting will be on Wednesday 29th March in St. Mary’s Hall at 7.30pm. If possible please can reports be with Cameron by Thursday 16th March for distribution on Sunday 19th of March.
Atkinson-Pryce will be holding an exciting event in St. Mary’s Hall on April 1st at 7pm. Cook for Syria Supper will feature a delicious multi-course Syrian-inspired meal, amazing raffle (with books as prizes!) and fascinating guest speakers making this an evening not to be missed. All money raised will go to UNICEF’s Syria fund. Tickets are £25 per person. Advance booking essential from Atkinson-Pryce Bookshop Church cleaning rota.
If you are able to take a turn at cleaning the church please put your name on the list in the vestibule. Consider pairing up with someone else - it can be fun if you do it with a friend!
