Biggar Parish Church


Welcome to our morning service. There is no Sunday Club during the summer holidays but all children are welcome to be with us through the service. Feel free to take a pew bag from the vestibule to keep little ones occupied.

Prayer meeting this evening at 7.30pm St. Mary’s Hall.

Summer opening of the church. There are still gaps on the rota for people welcoming visitors to the church on weekdays between 10.30am and 3.30pm. If you could do a morning or afternoon or two please sign up in the vestibule or at coffee. Any questions see Joan Urquhart.

Session meeting. The next session meeting will be on Wednesday 25th July in St. Mary’s Hall.

Holiday Club. This will be held in St. Mary’s Hall, July 23rd-27th from 10am to 12 noon each day, finishing with the Holiday Club all age service on Sunday 29th July. Suitable for children who have completed Primary 1 up to P7. Registration forms are available after the service today, in St. Mary’s Hall or from the rack outside the office in the Gillespie Centre. Its always a great week with lots of games, crafts, drama and fun. This year’s theme is Team Builders. Fliers also available to give to your friends. Please register soon!

Help needed— Mairi Maxfield is organizing the crafts for holiday club and is asking people to donate ‘plain and patterned fabric in different colours that can be cut into 15cm by 150cm strips to make scarves. We are also looking for short garden canes or similar to make flags ‘. Please bring contributions to the vestry or give them to Anne Smart or Jane Fucella.

Prayer Course. This is a great 6 week course produced by 24/7 prayer. We will be running it on Monday nights probably starting on Monday 23rd July. Please speak to Jane Fucella or Elly Sutherland if you are interested in joining us. See for more information.

Freedom in Christ groups will start after the schools go back, either one morning a week or an evening, or both if there is a demand. Please speak to Jane Fucella or Elly Sutherland if you would like to join a group. To find out more speak to any one of the 30 or so folk who have now done the course!

Rotas We need more people to be involved in the sound desk and the coffee rota. Please see Greg if you would like to help with sound desk (training will be given) and Nanette if you can help with coffee.

Knit and natter. Do you enjoy knitting or crocheting? Come and join
others to knit and natter, crochet and chatter at 1pm every Friday in the
Gillespie Centre. Lunch, coffee and cake all available to enjoy whilst you

Tuesday Lunch Club. This meets every Tuesday at 12 noon in the back hall
of the Gillespie Centre. After a lovely lunch, different activities happen on
different weeks. Eg. A service once a month, craft making, games. Please
encourage your friends to come along to this great social time together
